I'm on a new lease this year. My designated area is on high ground for the surrounding area. The particular area is many acres of small oaks without a lot of heavy underbrush because the goats have the area pretty well manicured. I built my feeder pen in the largest clearing that offered the widest shooting lanes, but also putting the feeder at the edge of the tree line so there would be as much cover as possible for the deer to approach the feeder.
Turns out the furthest away that I can place my blind and still have a clear shooting lane is about 75yrds from the pen.
Is that too close?
Seems like most people place their blinds about 100yrds from the feeder. Is there something magic about the 100yrd distance?

75 yards will be fine, as long as the prevailing winds in the area keep you down wind. People hunt archery with blinds a mere 20-30 yards away from feeders or target areas, so 75 yards is plenty.

Make sure the prevailing winds are in your face though. last thing you want to do is set up a blind and have yourself upwind of the animals. You will never see a good deer that way...

Just gonna have to be extra quiet and not move much at 75 yds but it will work.

Ours are all in the 50 yd range. As said before you have to be a little extra carefull with any noise, especially with kids but I haven't had any problems.

Thanks guys.
I wasn't sure if there was also some unspoken "sporting" factor in being too close, excepting of course those who will argue that how many of us hunt in Texas is not sporting.
Im set up 75 yrds east to northeast of the feeder, and the movement into the area seems to be from north and west. Outside of this last weekend I hope a NE wind is unusual. Because being 30yd south the feeder in a pop-up was not good enough either.
