Hunted 4 fields in the Brownwood/Coleman area Saturday-Tuesday with Executive Outfitters. Birds were plentiful Saturday and Sunday, managed to get 2 limits with the .410. Most got 10-15 birds. Things slowed down a little the next 2 days, 14 birds one day and 8 the other day. Hunters that could shoot well were still getting 10-15 birds, but most were in the 3-8 birds per hunter range. Not quite as many birds. Still plenty of whitewings, but it didn't look like as many as last year. Overall, plenty of birds in the area, but some fields are better than others (a little different from last year when all of the fields held good numbers of birds).

I have a group hunting Coleman this weekend so hopefully the front may push some more birds down.

Tom, if you are talking about the large groups in Gouldbusk, then yes we did well. Saturday all had limits, slowed a bit Sunday and Monday, but still managed to shoot about 8 per person average.

Hunted again this weekend with Executive Outfitters and picked up 2 more limits. Friday (pre-front), only a few limits from the field, average was 8 birds per hunter for 20 hunters (mostly mourning dove). The front came through that night and we moved to different field for the Saturday afternoon hunt. We weren't too far outside of Brownwood and we ended up having the best whitewing hunt I've ever been on (even in South Texas). Flocks of up to 60 birds were pretty steady and most folks in the field ended up with limits. The cooler temp and plentiful birds made for a very enjoyable evening.

My dad was at the ranch in Coleman this weekend, said they had hundreds of birds come in to one of the tanks. Said it was a crazy shoot
