It's different for everybody. What are you comfortable shooting? Revolver or semi-auto? What caliber? All things to consider.

The Bersa .380 is very popular. Light weight, easy to handle, and easy to conceal, but not much as far as stopping power.

Janie is 100% correct. Don't let anyone tell you you're wrong on your choice. It's largely a personal choice.
My generally philosophy is carry the biggest sidearm, both in terms of caliber and physical size, that you can comfortably carry and conceal adequately.

I carry a Glock 19.

What I carry most is my S&W M&P Shield 9mm. I fully agree with Redneck above though. Carry the biggest caliber/gun you are comfortable with and can conceal.

Carry what is most comfortable for you, not what everybody else says. Hold/shoot multiple guns and go with what feels best for YOU. I personally carry a Glock 26.

Right now a ruger lcp 380 in a de- santis front pocket holster. So light weight and thin you almost forget it is there. I am thinking about getting the new Springfield- armory xds slim frame 45, looks to be a great gun. The most important thing is to find something that is comfortable and hassle free that you will carry all the time.

Carry what is comfortable to you, if you don't like carrying it chances are you won't. I have a Keltec PF9 that I like to carry I used to have a 40 cal subcompact springfield XD I loved the gun but hated carrying it half the time.
