To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

It depends. If you get carried away you could end up spending as much on the taxidermy as the hunt. But here is how I would suggest budgeting on this hunt:

$2500-3500 for the hunt and tips - If you are looking at the “Take a Buddy” special. I say $3500 on the high end to give yourself some room to expand the hunt if you want to add an animal to the package.

$2000-$2400 for airfare. Depends on time of year and where you start from.

$1000-$2000 for taxidermy. Prices are a little cheaper in South Africa, but it gets offset by the increased shipping fees for completed mounts.

$800 for shipping and import fees for your trophies.

Hope this doesn't scare anyone away, but I like to be realistic with customers. When I went in '08 I spent $2000 on my plane ticket, $3400 on my hunt, $1700 on taxidermy in SA (1 pedestal mount and 3 euros plus 3 rugs) and then around $700 shipping and import fees. And of course the bulk of the taxidermy and shipping costs will come 6 to 12 months after the trip, so your wallet has a little recovery time.

Let me know if you'd like a quote for you and a buddy.. or to at least explore some dates.
