For those of you who missed my first review of Stone Creek Ranch, you can find it here.

http://www.texashuntingforum.com/forum/u...anc#Post2983691

As stated in that review, we headed back out yesterday 2-5-2012. This time I took a totally different group with me. I took my brother and good buddy and his son. After my report to these guys when I got home Thursday, they didn't sleep well the next two nights in anticipation. Post hunt, they all agreed that I did not exagerrate about the ranch, the lodge, or the people at all. Everyone had a magnificant time.

I took a beautiful pearl white fallow doe. My brother took a little "spike" oryx. My buddy actually let his son, 13, shoot a nice middle-sized oryx. How many of us can say our first animal was a nice African exotic. Yes, I'm a little jealous, but also so proud of, and happy, for him.

I tell you what guys, that's 5 hunters I've had out there and it's not a matter of if we go back, it's only a matter of how soon can get the money and talk the wives into it.

I've expounded on all the amenities already but in talking to Bobby, post hunt, he said they're trying to make the place even nicer. They want to try to get a skeet range and 3D archery range in this year. They're also going to flood another pond and stock it for fishing. I failed to mention a few little things in the last review. In addtion to my previous description of the ranch, they also have a horshoe pitch and a pond where they put jetskis in in the summer.

It's such a nice place, they're such nice people, and there are so many nice animals to shoot. Fantastic. Again.

Thanks Bobby and Scott. We'll be back.

P.S. I did get to see the Axis this time. Super herd with some nice specimens. What really perked my ears up though were the Fallow bucks. We saw an amazing herd of bucks; nice mix of all 3 colors, very, very nice headgear. I almost convinced myself to shoot one and beg the wife's forgiveness later. Amazing. I'll be back for one of those.

Just dropped the meat off at the processor this morning. Came back home to cut up the straps and tenderloins. As I was packing it all up, I decided to cut off 3 or 4 inches of tenderloin and pan fry it(not sure if it was Oryx or Fallow). My wife had never had any exotic meat. When she was eating a few bites, she said, "What did you put on this?" I said, "Just a little salt and pepper." She said, "Mmmmm. Damn. That's way better than beef." laugh
