What i said was that i put about 250 rounds through it and it began to jam so i cleaned it. I have not fired it yet but i will be on sat and sunday. So i will post up how the cleaning effected the cycle. I have cleaned it twice out of the box, and after 250 rounds, I would have kept going but a clean gun is a happy one. At least i dont have to clean it every week like the 1187.

Just curious Farvafire but why didnt you go with a 28" barrel. That can make a huge difference on the steel shot pattern. Was it because of money?

The price was the same between my options (24" or 26"). My choice was based on my 1187 length. The 1187 was a 28" i had shot an 870 26" and liked the swing and feel of the shorter gun. The 3500 with a 26" was the same length and the 24" was about 1.75" shorter. For me the onlything that changed was length and sight picture at long range or passing birds, i have to leed a little more. I also deer hunt with the gun so the shorter barrel is nice to have. From the info i seen on the internet the pattern on a shotgun is determined by the last few inches of the barrel. I am not an expert but it seems to me that the added length of the barrel provides you with a better shot picture. It is the same filosophy as going from the M16a2 to the M4. The shorter barrel on the M4 changed our sight picture at the 500 yd range quite a bit.

Yeah I agree with you Farvafire....I didnt think the barrel length...as long as it was a certain minimal length had anything to do with it.

...would love to hear an honest review.
For the money it is a fine gun. It's no Cadillac, but it's not a Pinto either. My truck getting stolen really took the wind out of my duck hunting sails for the remainder of the season, so I've been putting quite a few rounds through my M3500 shooting clays. Here's my honest review: Pros: -Price point -Shoulders great and fits me well -Swings great (I got the 28" barrel), maybe a little heavy on the front, but not enough to cause problems -Has cycled 1 1/8 oz loads and up flawlessly without a single issue (probably ~1200 rounds down the tube since October) -With the weight added in the stock the recoil on 3 1/2" loads is extremely light IMO -Doesn't feel or look cheap like a lot of other lower-end price range guns do -Good selections of factory chokes; patterned well multiple loads with the factory mod, but for giggles I tossed on a kicks and it shoots like a dream -Haven't cleaned it a single time (I'm going to push her to the point where she's too dirty to run, want to see just how much abuse she can handle) Cons: -A little on the heavy side IMO -Will not cycle 1 oz loads even with the weight in the stock taken out -Camo finish is wearing off in a couple spots; very disappointed in that -Trigger is a little on the heavy side -Safety is very heavy, but I guess that is a good thing -Can't baby the action, got to get used to letting it slam shut..other wise you'll be on here like a silly idiot asking questions

I shoot a Stoeger M3500, and it has not given me any trouble. It has been more dependable than the Remington Super Mag Pump I was using. For some reason I get the feeling that most of the guys telling you to spend lots of money and buy a Benelli don't even own one themselves. The M3500 is a good shotgun. Dont believe anybody who tells you it isn't any good because the price is not inflated.

I'll be using it tomorrow morning for the first time. I am using 1 1/8 oz loads so I hope I dont have any cycling issues.
I'm pretty pumped to get it out there and start using it...

The only one that is slightly concerning is the camo finish is coming off prematurely. I'd have to shoot it to know what you mean on the trigger.

Did anyone actually say it was a bad shotgun because it's not expensive? I think the concerns were based on the track record of the last Stoeger semiauto offering, the M2000.

The way I look at it a shotgun is one hunting item that you will use more than any other so you might as well buy a good one. If you can't afford a good one shoot a pump for a few years and save up.
According to your own statement, the only "Good" shotguns are the ones that cost more than the Stoeger. So yes, someone did say that.

I looked at the Stoeger 2000 in a local pawn shop this week, it is camo covered and the finish is worn off above the trigger guard. I thought they were a little high on the price. They were asking $450.

Yeah I'd stay away from that one Lakeway. The 3500 might be a winner for them though. Time will tell.

They were asking $450. They usually have them for $499. at Academy or Dicks. As mentioned before, I had a small hiccup with mine during dove 2 years ago, cleaned it up and it goes boom as fast as I pull the trigger.
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.
