I just wanted to give a thumbs up to a great group of game wardens, park attendants, park hosts, and all involved in the Dinosaur Valley State Park Hunt. The weather was bad on Monday with all the rain but everyone envolved made it a great day. They drove us to and from the blinds and assisted with any thing they could to make the hunt enjoyable. They were very accomadating with a family that showed up for standby with three kids that all wanted to hunt ages 7,9, and 11. I know for sure the 11 yr old got a doe which made his day. From the limited areas I seen, the park was very nice and the scenery was beautiful.

I believe there were only 8 out of 10 slots filled for first hunt and everyone took a deer. It was muzzleloader anterless only hunt. Not sure about second group later in the week.

Shape of Blinds and feeders? Great to hear they are having hunts and are success. Is this first year?

The blinds were basic open ground blinds. A couple of T posts with half of a cattle pannel in U shape. They had camo material tied to pannel with shooting window cut out. This was the first hunt I believe since 2002.

Draw Hunts are some of the best thing that TPWD has going. I always register for all I can as a back up. Got where we really enjoy them because you can always register for some of the prettiest area in the state. Just a lot of fund seeing different SP, and youth hunts are a bonus for kid and GKs. Great program and alway well run hunts.

I do not remember when exactly they started those hunts but for the hunt dates and some days around them they close off the park for a different public usage. I have heard nothing but good things on those hunts.
