I'm looking for some old turtle shells about the size that would fit in your hand. I often come across some shells out on our lease but in search of some more. Using them for a project.
PM me if you might have any you would part with. Thanks

Be sure you can correctly id any that you get with all these endangered species popping up and what's already on the list, someone could get there..... could get into trouble if you happened to have the wrong one in the mix. btw out here we even find them around the stock tanks from time to time.

Thanks. Not trying to get in any trouble over some endangered species.

I will keep an eye out for them, two weeks ago I picked one up & showed it to my wife while we were Quail hunting but I dropped it right back where I found it.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Make turkey slate calls using the shell to hold the slate. I am actually just trying to help my uncle out. He makes box calls, wingbone calls, and slate calls as a hobby and visits a few shows around OK. He sold most of the ones he had the last few weeks and asked if I would check down here. Thanks guys, Coach

I have one that I found that has been bleached white by the elements.
Please send me a private message as I am interested in sending it to him and paying him to make me a turkey call from it.
Thanks.

I have a friend in Washington that takes the individual scales, polishes them, and makes beatiful guitar pics out of them.

Saw a mandolin pick last summer of turtle shell...$40!! Couldn't put it back quickly enough! Gorgeous tho. Turkey calls from those would be considered artwork!!
