Hello everyone. dont shoot but I am from upstate NY {rochester}. Lived in FT worth area for 5 years or so, some 15 years ago. I am looking to head back down there for good. Looking around San Antonio area, specifically Mccoy. So is anyone familiar with the area? How is the hunting around there?
Tough looking for a home reasonably priced that will be good for hunting as well as my wifes horses, and a good school district. any help will be appreciated. I will continue to be a active member of this forum so long as ya"ll will allow me to.

Welcome to Texas! I don't know anything about the McCoy area, but spent a little time in Pittsford. Don't expect the deer to be as large bodied as they are in upstate NY, I almost hit a doe in Pittsford with the car, I thought it was a well fed heifer for a few seconds. :-)

Ive heard that..shot 2 bucks this year 1 dressed at 205 and the other at 165. the largest doe I shot dressed at 128..Your racks are bigger down there..

Around San Antonio you should be able to find enough exotics and hog to keep you busy.

I hunted in McCoy and lived in Jourdanton. There is plenty to keep you busy if you have the $$$ to pursue it. Atascosa county is not the low end of lease pricing unfortunately.

I believe McCoy kids probably go to Pleasanton schools, theres nothing there but a post office and a closed down bar (unless it has re-opened)
