Hi everyone, I am trying to get a hold of some pigeons to train a retriever with but, I don't want to spend 15 dollars a piece for them and I don't wanna buy 50 of them. Can anyone help me out with this? I have not been living in the metroplex very long so I don't have a whole lot of resources. Thanks in advance for any help you guys could provide

Well...I would prefer a smaller bird like a pigeon. My pup is 11 months old and is having some "interest" issues with crippled birds or anything with feathers that aren't attached to a bumper. How big are the ducks? Teal size or mallard size?

I work in Dallas. I may be interested in some dead ones. I was really looking for some live ones though.

Catch the live ones in the parking garages around Dallas. Just use a fishing net on a pole. Go after dark. They will hold better.

masagaut - I buy mine at a feed store on 175 south of downtown. I think its called Aggie Feed Store. Pretty sure you have to talk to Randy.

I bet you are right because I have seen it at T-BAR-T feed store on 175 in Kaufman & they have the same owner (so I was told)
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.
