Well first deer season in about 7 yrs that I went venison free. Not the kind of record to brag about but it is what it is, hunting. I think I just need to get " out more" and hunt. Lord willingly and these back surgeries go well, I have made up my mind I'm gonna do just that.

Anyone else go empty this yr?

We're going out this afternoon, I'll probably take a doe for a little extra meat, Brenda can still take two. Might get lucky and that big 11 over on the pipeline will stick his head out. He was spotted twice this year but nobody got a shot at him.

Next on the list is a couple of hog hunts and a few exotic's.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Good luck with whatever you are having done.

Prayers for your back surgery

I'm with ya 7mag. The first year I haven't harvested a single deer in 5 years, and I'm perfectly healthy. Don't feel bad! Good luck with your surgeries!

One doe here in Texas, one buck in Missouri. We still have the extended season in Young County. My son and I saw two legal bucks last night, one too busted up to shoot and the other too late to see the cross hairs. We aren't quitting yet though. I'll give you some meat if you need some Roy. And God bless you and your surgeon.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Yea I went empty too. Saw some good bucks but nothing I wanted to put on the wall. I enjoy Deer meat but don't kill just for that, got lots of pigs on the ranch if I need some fresh meat.

My deal is I have decided to get on a lease. Been a while since I have been on one. Getting to old to do some of the "other stuff" and I really want to get out and kick rocks more often. Jeff W and myself are starting to look, wish us luck deer2

I am recovering from colon surgery. You will be in my prayers for sure on those surgeries.

I don't deer hunt but I'm still hoping to get out for a quail hunt before season ends.

I know it is aggravating but hope this time next year you are complaining about too much venison in the freezer.

Good luck,

Ive hunted every weekend since the second weekend of gun season, just got home and only shot 1 doe, had chances on same small group of does 3 weekends in a row, just waiting for a buck. took a guest this weekend to shoot a doe and nothing but a pair of fork(4point) showed up. 2 more weeks if i want meat, think i might just let them ride another season.

I went empty 7mag. I hunt in Limestone county and we can't shoot doe.
I saw a couple of shootable bucks on opening weekend, but they weren't old enough to make me comfortable. Thanksgiving weekend I finally saw an older 8 and took my shot, but it was rushed and 225 yards. No dice.
It would have been nice to get a buck but I still enjoyed myself. Time in the woods is hard to beat.

Killed a cull opening morning of bow season...nothing since. Have one more weekend to shoot a doe or spike, but think I am going to take a buddy that doesn't get to go much.

Good luck with your surgery

Did get to spend some time with some good folks and saw plenty of deer

Zero for me too but i got to see my son take his first deer so there's venison in the freezer.

When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be responsible.

Zero deer here, my surgery in Oct cost me till Dec before I got to hunt. I did drop a couple pigs. Going back last of extended season for my son.

My wife must be a cross between a Indian and a bulldog. When she's not on the warpath, she's sitting on her butt growling.

Zero deer for me, just one stinky old boar hog, but I got to spend time with my oldest son and my grandsons. My wife and Daughter In-law even made a couple of trips too. So even though I didn't kill a monster buck I had a great time and am thankful for it.
We'll go back and try to get the grandson a buck, still have 2 weeks to do that.
