Had to try it, soaked in milk for 2 days and fried up tonight with gravy. Not bad at all. Tasted better than teal. The teal tasted like liver

The duck hunters that dont/wont eat spoonies are just like the "bass-holes" that won't eat a nice large mouth....

The Spoonie is actually a distant cousin of the BW teal. Look at their blue wing patches and listen to both hens if you never have. As long as the spoons haven't reached the coast they are usually good eating. They just have a bad rep from the boys down south, with good reason though.

Live to hunt, hunt to live.

I know Spoonies get a bad rap and are fine to eat, but better than Teal? Come on now. If Teal taste like liver, you are doing something wrong in preparing them. Net time you fry Teal, try dipping them in mustard before you put them in flour. Make sure you season the flour with Toneys. They are hard to beat.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting.......holy kaka.....What a Ride!
