Hey guys - I saw everybody talking about this one - I mean obviously it looks cool but what are your serious opinions on this unit....and would you suggest buying more than just either the red or the green?

Do you find a need for an illuminated reticle?
what is the farthest distance you find this is good for?
Which mount do you find is best to use? (quick mount, barrel?)

thanks for your help

Bought the green one to mount on my AR. Mounted it with a 1" offset tactical rail mount. No need for illuminated reticles. Only used it at night on a paper Target, but at 100 yards but could see Target perfectly. Thinking about buying a second one to use just as a flashlight / spoting light. Very impressed with the light. Package comes with scope mount, barrel mount, 2 batteries, wall charger and car charging adapter.

Can't say about the XLR's, but I can attest to the Bowlites.
I tested them at 200yds and was very impressed. Could see targets perfectly and could see the edges of the paper were folding over from moisture. The green could easily reach 300yds.
Bowlites are a little cheaper also. You can get a bow/rifle package combo.
Also have Rhino flashlights which were the previous model of riflelite for a really good price.

I can get ya into one with a THF discount and no shipping

I'm very impressed with the XLR 250. You don't need a lighted reticle, but it does make it a lot easier. i have the green and I'm good with that. You can purchase the extra bulb after you have used it a bit if you think you want/need it. It's like 30 bucks.

It comes with both mounts and you use the one that will work best with your weapon. Each setup is different...that's why they give you a choice.
