So several people are using permanent green or red lights shined on their feeders from a post with bettery or solar for night time hog hunting, and after some getting used to it, hogs seem to not mind at all.

What if you were to mount the green lights in front of your elevated bow blind or even mounted to the front of the blind itself? It would essentially double as additional camo since they won't be able to see anything looking up past the lights, and of course adding light to shoot. It would also probably allow you to have a dimmer light lit in the blind as the brighter light would block out the dimmer light.

The blind in thought here would be an open air blind elevated 8-12 feet to base, for those warm summer nights.

Very nice. I like the way you mounted it to the face plate of the T and added a switch. Very efficient/effective.

i like the light setup. i too have some of these lights i got from led supply. the deer and hogs don't mind it at all. from experience in the summer nights, these lights attract flying bugs that can annoy you all night. i have since move my light about 25 yards from my feeder and i ran some low voltage wire back to my blind so that i can turn it on or off, about 40 yards of wire.

I bought a lathe and started building my own lights a few years ago. As long as you are behind the light pigs cant see you. If I am using a tripod I will put a shade tube on my lights so I am not seen in the halo. I started puting my lights away from my shooting windows because of bugs. I also build lights with remote controlls that can be turned on from a 100 yards away.

I bought a led setup from texasboars.com, and have yet to use it. Will a 6v battery run this led light all night or do I only kick it on when I assume there are pigs?

i have both a red light and green light. each one facing a different direction. the green throws 100 yards plus. i run them off of 12volt batteries. runtime is over 8 hrs. thats the longest i've used them and i got sleepy after that. i leave them on constantly while i'm hunting. i've had deer and hogs come out under these lights and pay no mind to the light. 1 battery for each light. u can use a car battery or the 12v batteries from academy sports and such. if your worried about runtime i sometimes wait till the flash of my game cam flashes and that alerts me to their arrival. i would then turn the light on. it didn't bother them cuz they were to busy eating the soured corn. have fun

I would bet the TB light needs a 12 volt battery to work properly.
LED's run off a driver. Unless he uses a boost driver the voltage of the battery needs to exceed the forward voltage of the led. A standard 12 volt
deer feeder battery will run most lights for 6 to 8 hours.
