Assuming it pretty light, do deer tend to move in this type of weather?

Yesterday they moved in the morning for me and it was raining. Passed on a nice 8pt and kicking myself now. It was warmer yesterday so maybe the rain didn't bother them as much. So far this morning I haven't seen any movement. If it would just stop for about 15 minutes I believe they will get up. Let's hope so

I have noticed sometimes the like to get up and "shake" the water off themselves if it lets up.

I enjoy hunting in light rain, mist and light fog. Deer move like crazy.

Only saw one fawn this morning and a bobcat yesterday morning. Camera showed the fawn coming in around 2:30pm Friday but was pretty slow for me overall.

My wife and I were coming home from church, approx. 1 PM today, saw a doe & 2 yearlings in a small clearing about a 100 yds from our home. About an hour later I went to put SD cards back in my cameras and coming back saw what I think was a small buck in the same clearing. Both sightings were in the rain with water running in the ditches.

There isn't a better time to be in the woods than immediately following a long and/or lengthy rain. Just like us, deer are going to bed and sheek shelter during a heavy or moderate rain. And also like ourselves, rain seems to create hunger. Probably even more so since deer need food to keep warm.

A cold day of light rain is a good time to be on the stand as well.

I wouldn't hesitate to make my way to the stand before daylight in the rain, if forecast or radar shows it was going to stop later that morning.
