Just got back from the Heart A Ranch in Sonora and I have to say that it was a fabulous time. They run a great operation with excellent trophy quality. They are on 4600 acres and by no means can be called a “canned hunt”. The food was great and the hospitality was even better. I am definitely going to try and make it back there next year for an axis hunt or a later season hunt with my father. My father was able to get his fallow with a crossbow but I shot a little far back on a quartering away shot with my vertical bow and did not get a complete pass through. With an arrow in the buck’s side, it kept him running and was able to track him for about ¾ of a mile before loosing the blood trail.
