My friend and I are fairly new to waterfowl hunting, we just got all of our gear bought over the past few weeks, everything except decoys. I've been looking around online and I see there are many types of decoys such as mallards and wood ducks. Which decoys should we be buying? We're hunting near in the Anahuac Texas area if that helps any. Thanks!

Gads, mallards, teal, wigeon, pintail (in order)get GHG, you might spend a little more but they will hold up the best....

They're not looking for one thing right....they're looking for one thing wrong.

Buy some hand carved wooden sprig decoys from Bryon Bodt. I promise you nothing will come close to riding the rough waters like a wooden block.

It's hard to spend $700 a dozen..but they do ride so much better, rough, still it doesn't matter they look like real ducks

X2...Just get a couple dozen to start...don't want to spend too much money when you just start you.

Did you guys not read where he's at? Anahuac.....

No need for mallard dekes there. Gadwalls, teal, pintails, widgeon. In that order.
Flambeau storm front decoys will hold up better than GHG in the long run. GHG do look good, but they won't last. If you have the money.....buy G&H decoys. They will last a lifetime.
