Curious has any one ever used the wireless driveway motion detetion sensor to tell you when something enters your area while your back in camp. as in hogs so you can leave camp and sneek up on them . just an idea

Yes. I have even heard of someone that used a baby monitor at their feeder with success. There is a texas company that makes hunter's sensors. I can't remember the name, but they make a set with three sensors and a receiver that looks like a small transistor radio and I think they cost $20-$30. They work pretty good. You can either put an ear bud in to hear when they go off or use lights on the front of the receiver to tell silently when something is in the area. Obviously I have a set. They work pretty good but not fool proof. The driveway sensors are too loud and I don't think you can silence them.

Never thought of any of these but seems like a good idea.

Not a dumb idea... I have plans to put a motion sensor on green led lights over our pig toys. When we see the lights go on in the distance... it's time to slip in on them.

I went to lowes and bought a solar powered motion light. It was just white light. Mounted it on the tree next to the feeder shinning directly under it. Less than a week and they were used to it. Made night hunting easy. Would just sit in the blind and wait for the light to pop on. I would get so excited when the ligth came on, a lot of the time, was a coon though.

Right on; that is the easiest and most cost effective method I know of.

That is a great idea, thanks for suggesting that, I should have thought of that a long time ago.

I use one of these. It is call a hunter alert. Works very well. I sleep all night in my blind and let the hunter alert wake me when something approaches the feeder. I has helped me kill several hogs.

I have bought the solar security light at harbour freight as well, about $20. I haven't put out yet, but I am going to put a red screen on it first. I think it'll work as a method of knowing something is at the feeder. I like the baby warning signal radio as well. Might have to try that as well.

I know a man who has a feed area right by camp, a motion detector and a tv with a remote camera. The hogs come in, we watched them on the tv, snuck up on them (behind flood lights lighting the area up) and shot them with bows. It was the second slickest thing I have ever done to kill a hog.
