Same thing happened to us this morning, went on a quick hunt with some newbies that wanted to shoot everything to give my dog some work. We hunted till 7:30, they killed 19, 8 different species.
This is what was shot- they were not picky at all as you can see.
some mallards
gadwall
widgeon
one spoonie
canvasback
one ringneck
some bluebills
an elusive hen pintail, or depending who you are a gadwall.
I think thats about it.
Saw about 25% of the birds that were here on Wed. I guess they pushed further south with that front.
I will be chasing them to the rice fields in south Lousiana this weekend to see.

Funny thing is, my dog retrieved the duck this morning and when she walked by one of the guys he said that's a gadwall, I thought her we go again so we had a little lesson and a discussion about the prior post which for some reason has been removed now.
It is an easy mistake for someone new at a distance, but a "guide" up close, don't understand that. However there was more than one guide that mis-identified a duck last week, go figure.
