All of the leases I've been on have been north and west of DFW and allowed does to be taken during the entire hunting season. I picked up bow hunting and decided to stay closer to home this season and bow hunt in Hunt and Delta Counties. I've always "assumed" that counties with the general firearm Thanksgiving doe season still allowed does to be taken with archery equipment outside of the 4 day Thanksgiving season. Why? I don't know. The way I now read it:
- Private land: Nov 24-27 is doe season (weapon of choice)
- Public land: Some units allow does to be taken with bows Oct-Jan

Sorry for what seems to be an elementary question, just trying to dispell my long standing assumption.

During general season, general season rules apply regardless of weapon used.

Thanks man. One of those things I just needed to hear it from someone else.
