It's about a foot taller than it should be. Hard to tell with no point of reference in the photos, but I'd say it's about 4 feet high.

to thin i would thicken it up a bit and try to get some on the top

Honestly, it probably depends on what ducks you expect. Divers will come into that no problem.

I would lay up on the bank, and be still. Maybe lay a couple branches over the top or around me too. Keep a low profile.

I think you need more behind you, so when you're inside your back is covered as well. Also, like someone said, get it thinker above you.

I think u will stick out like a sore thumb.

Yeah I need to just get a layout blind, but I haven't brought myself to spend the money on it yet.

you dont need a layout blind if you dont mind getting muddy. Use your blind bag as a pillow and you are good to go!

Yep, or get yourself some burlap to cover yourelf..

I think if you scout the day before, and see ducks all around that blind, then the next morning you would smoke'em.

Did the samething with palm leaf blind per my other post. That being said, I think bamboo works better. And I like to stick the blind out further out in the water when ducks are landing out further, or dropping in before your spread out of range. See pic below, bamboo blind stuck in the mud, ducks behind the blind. Next moring, put deeks in same spot, when ducks come in, you are in front of the spread and smoke them comming in, and if they flare before the spread you can still shoot them in the face. how tall is that stuff? put a stool in the middle of it and it looks good to me! I've killed several ducks standing next to stuff that's way thinner than that.

It was too tall. I would have wanted it to be 12 - 18 inches shorter than it was.

Pawn a gun, mow some yards, collect cans, anything to scrounge for a layout, it will be heavily used this year for sure....

It wasn't that I couldn't literally afford it, but I was trying to not have to buy every single piece of gear in one season. I mean, all I had was a shotgun to start with. Had to buy waders, decoys, decoy anchors, jerk rig, layout blind, ammunition, waterfowl jacket & gloves, etc. It's easy to spend way too much to get all of the gear at once rather than buying the gear over a few seasons.

The position that I set that blind up in wasn't ideal. I spent about three hours there yesterday afternoon, and then when I arrive in the morning, there were other hunters about 100 yards to the west. Would have moved further from them if I had a layout blind, but I was committed since this natural blind isn't exactly mobile!

Anyways, my collection is complete for now. Next on the list is a truck and a dog!
