The bucks here in Erath county are in full rut! Ive been scouting for a few months and studied a lot of pictures. I thought I had the buck picked out but Ive never seen this one!! He was chasing a doe hard and wouldn't let her out of his sight. Once they came into shooting distance I made the shot! It was different this morning vs other mornings. Very quiet, I usually see around a dozen doe and a few bucks. What a blast! I'm sleep deprived, went to bed at midnight and up at 4. WELL WORTH IT!!! This is the 2nd time my son has had a chance to hunt with me and the 2nd buck also. I think I'm setting the bar too high LOL!
