Hunt down there around Downing. Before season, everythng looked very promising. After the rain we had, I havent seen anything. Hunted every week during bow season, and took my daughter last week. All we have seen has been a little four point. I think the rain we got has caused the grass to grow up good and green keeping them from moving too much. Come on rut!!!

Comanche is a hard place to hunt - we hunted near Beattie for about 5 years - we used to joke that the locals would start hunting in January and finish around December 31 because we just did not see many deer even though there was plenty of forage.

However - We had the best luck when we invested and started hunting in tree blinds - hunting from trees was a lot more fun anyway!

If you are going to do it, give it your best!

Procowboy, that is kind of what is happening to us. I had about 4 shooters coming in every evening, and of course stopped the week before bow started. havent been back since so hopefully letting the area calm down will help, but i didnt think there was going to be such a big acorn drop. that might a problem. oh well, thats why it is called hunting
