I am in the process of switching scopes on my RRA AR-223. I am only considering 2 different options.

1. Trijicon ACOG 4x32 with chevron reticle.
2. EoTech 552 with either a x3 or x5 magnifier.

Just curious on what some experiences you guys might have had with one of these, maybe someone who has compared them.

I'd go with the Acog, but that's just my preference.

I have a 4x ACOG with the BDC reticle on mine. I have had no problems shooting melon sized groups at 400 yards with it.

If I were going with a red dot and magnifier, I would get an aimpoint. Nothing against EOtech, they would surely be my second choice for red dot sights.

Still have both and I perfer the EoTech with magnifier on a flip over mount. FAR perfer EoTech to aimpoint and perfer the MARS system to any.

I've decided to go with a Trijicon 4x32 ACOG. However I'm still on the fence between the green and red...

thoughts for the green is it would be great for at night with a red light varmint, hog hunting. But I'm not sure how bright it would be during the day, if it was still visible.

the red. would obviously be great during the day, however against the red spot light for night hunting varmints/hogs I'm afraid i would not be able to see the reticle.

can I please get ya'lls feedback with what you've experienced?

Go with a Pride and Fowler CQLR-1 1-4x24mm. The Army is actually starting to replace the ACOG with these optics. They are far more superior and cost about the same as a ACOG. Plus they are first focal plane optics, so no matter what magnification your at, the ballistic reticle will match. No other scope can do that. They are also illuminated. If your interested in one of these, let me know. We have a few in stock. We also have ACOG's, EOTECH's and Aimpoints available too. Also, if you haven't heard of Pride and Fowler optics, thats because they just started selling to the general pubic. They used to only sell to government contracts.

I've had both and the ACOG is the way to go. Eye relief on mine is a lil lousy, but that's nothing really. It's a great set up for a magnified optic.

That's a good deal. I got a few in stock up in Conroe I would have sold for a little less.

I have used both the EXPS 2 with the 3x mag and a TA33GHRMR.
With the ACOG it was really nice to have the RMR, but I hate the eye relive with ACOGS.
That's what I love about EOTech.
The unlimited eye relief w/o the mag is amazing. And the fast aquisition is tops for me.

I have owned a few ACOGs and still have a TA33GH
I think they are a fanstastic battle optic

Tried Eotechs and aimpoints and 3x magnifiers

Each has their place

I run a T1 on my HD AR because I can just leave it on and trust that it will be ready if I need it in the middle of the night.

I run an Eotech XPS on my 6.8 when I am at the lease and driving around or stalk hunting in the day. I like it because it has the smaller dot which gets me a bit more precision at 100-200 yards over the Aimpoints

I like 1-4/ for 3 gun and a 1.5-6x42 S&B for my 6.8 for low light hunting

ARs are definitely legos for big boys that can make you go broke smile
