I used to hunt the property next door. Let's put it this way...once that wetlands area was built, they decided to stay at the Ritz rather than the Motel 6 we had for them across the river.
Needless to say, we don't hunt there any more. This wasn't the only reason though. Our ponds became overgrown and huntable water really decreased.

I sure would like to find a place here close to home to hunt...everytime I pass those wetlands I can only imagine the carnage that could happen in there.

Last year, the boys could have been done in 5 mins. The JBS Wetland Biologist estimated the duck count at 20k.

I always wondered about that place. Pass it on our way to our farm in van zandt county. So who owns it? I guess they won't let anyone hunt on it?

http://www.wetlandcenter.com/We (Texas Youth Hunting Program www.tyhp.org along with a couple other sponsors such as Delta Waterfowl) do a youth hunt every year on the place, and other than that it is mainly just a small handful of folks that get to hunt it (I wish I was one)...and the ducks don't taste funny either .

Can u actually get permission to hunt the plant Those cells are an exact replica of the Wetlands by Richland Chambers, only the wetlands by RC are unhuntable this year due to construction of a lot more wet cells. Only employees, besides the youth hunt, get to hunt the plant in Crandall.

This is my first year outside Arkansas, so I'm prob not the best judge. We have 5 tanks and two sloughs still with water. Tons of dove on the tanks...didn't do very good during the teal season but the sloughs are supposed to hold mallards...I'll tell ya in a few weeks!
