Been out 3 times in the last week after this guy. Last time he busted me coming out of the blind after waiting all night for him.

He's running with a another boar in this group that is slightly smaller but still a nice one.

Headed out about 6:45 tonight to try and give him some 6.8 love again. Hope to post some DRT pics later with him hanging on the scale.

Sat in that stand for 6 hours with no hogs. Not a total loss. 3 out of 6 coons dead. Only saw 2 does all night long. Ever since the rain, the deer have disappeared.

Going out again tonight. I heard him twice last night, but he wouldn't come in to the feeder. He's crafty, so last night I took a 1 gal Ziploc bag of corn with me for the hike in. Started dribbling it along the last 70 yards or so of trail I knew he was crossing and I could hear that big boar and a few smaller ones eating away bu that was as far as they came.

I use scent killer laundry soap, shampoo/soap, and sprays when I get out there. Not sure what else I can do but put more time behind the triger. He's making it personal now. At least my wife has a good nature when it comes to such things.

My NV scope is back at ATN again for warranty repair.......... argue

Sat in the blind from 8PM last night to 3AM this morning. Nada, except about 5 or 6 coons and a doe with twins. Did get treated to a show from a cute little fox who was quite interested in the tripod my Big Red TB lights were on.

Pulled all the camera cards on my way out and found out that big hoss has been over at the pig pipe the last 3 nights. I had to put a new pipe out last month as the racoons had gnawed away at the holes in the PVC so bad that the whole thing would be emptied out in one evening.

The new pipe has had them working much harder for longer. It's now empty and it won't be refilled until this guy is in the dirt. This should force him back to the main feeder.

Can't beleive I'm saying this, but I am going out again tonight. I guess I'll sleep really well once his head is in the freezer.

Going to sneak the wife's .22 out for a little work on the coons tonight. 6.8's are wayyyyyy too exspensive to waste on those corn thieves.

No, I wish. That's a fake can on my wife's HK .22

No way is she getting a suppressor before I do!!!! I will be getting a model that fits all my AR's from .308 down to 5.56
Then she gets one for her little plinker.

Then that, along with my nv scope, will defintely allow me to put the hurting on the hogs....... rifle

Had a total melt down last night. After hunting for him 5 out of the last 7 days, he finally came in to the feeder and gave me a perfect broadside shot opportunity at 50 yards. I couldn't stop shaking. I've never had 'buck fever' like that on any other hunt in my life.

It started at 9:20 last night when I heard him feeding on the hand thrown corn I left along the trail to the feeder. He was grunting and squealing away and at one point it sounded like he chased a few other hogs off. He spent the next hour and 40 minutes slinking through the cedar and eating corn at the far edge of the feeder's throw radius, while never coming into the light.

He must have bolted off 2 or 3 dozen times before I ever saw his head clear the last tree trunk coming in to the feeder. When he did, he stopped right under the motor at a perfect 90 degree angle to me. I sat there for what seemed like a really long time trying to get my heart rate down and trying to think only of the spot I wanted to hit and not how much bigger the hog was seeing it in person.

Shooting out of a blind window off of sandbags, and I miss him completely at 50 yards. He was gone almost before the report of the shot died away. No hair or blood or any indication he was hit. Man that boar can move!

I joked about it being personal, but the joke is on me. I let 5 really long nights of hunting and an hour and a half of listening to him breaking branches and squealing get to me in the end. Couldn't wait to put him on the ground. I am going to give him a few days then try and take him at the pig pipe. Doubt he'll be back at the feeder any time soon.
