Going on my first turkey hunt and looking at shells. Is there much difference between 2 3/4 and 3"?? 2 3/4 would save me $3 and gun handles both.

All depends on how your gun patterns them. The more shot in teh head/neck the better.

I like the 3" turkey loads better for the simple fact that they are designed for that purpose, and you have more shot to work with in the 3" shell just my 2 cents though....

25 bangs in a box,,,,,how many shots averaged on a day shooting turkey? Most of the better turkey shells come 5 or 10 to a box. If you want to really be prepared, buy a couple of both and pattern your gun to see what it likes best. If not, just buy a box of whatever and hope for the best.

I always tell people if your shotgun will shoot 3" then use them. That is unless you are a young person and/or sensitive to recoil.
To be determined

Heavy shot #5 3 1/2 or Federal Flight control # 5 shot... sometimes You can find the shell with 6 and 4 shot mixed.
