This was what the creek looked like last year.

and this year.

This kind of shows how deep the holes are and the size of the rocks.

I about broke down in tears today thinking about it.

That stinks. Hopefully we will all get some rain and it will be back to normal soon.

It really hits home for me. My best friend owns the land and raises cattle and goats. I work here part time, help out and get a section to hunt during deer season and roam the place the rest of the year. The majority of the cattle have been sold and we are taking a good portion of the goats to auction tomorrow.

Luckily two small sections of the creek are still holding water via a spring and we have two wells. All the tanks are dry. We are still holding deer but they have begun to show some bones.

I have bathed in that creek or one very similar close to Richland Springs in the fall while bow hunting many years ago. It was on the Mays ranch.

That is a shame. Very beautiful place. One day it will be back to normal.

Looks bad.

How many arrowheads have you found on that place?

Roughly the same time. I would have to go back though a few thousand pics to find the original to get the date.

I haven't found any arrowheads myself but the hunters have. I do find rocks with holes drilled in them that were used as weights for fishing nets.

Agree..beautiful creek when theres water. Went out to my hunting spot for the first time yesterday to trim some limbs and do some weed eating. There was no new limbs or grass to weedeat. Lol looked like it did last december. No rain nothing grows. Should put deer at the feeders but with corn 9-10 bucks a bag might hurt the pocket book. Lol

Last year during season (lookin from NW to SE)

Last weekend (looking E to W)

One thing about it, you can't have deer walking out in the lake bed if it's got water in it. LOL

Prediction of 8.24 inches of rain here this weekend. Hope they're right!

JJ

Well, they have gotten about ten inches of rain so far this weekend. The creek is flooded and has crossed the county road in two places and everyone is stuck out there for a couple of days uncluding hunters on other ranches. Looks like all the tanks may be full again as well.
We will be fixing water gaps next week and I aint complaining!

Hope all those who need the rain are getting what they need as well.
