If you are deer hunting out of your deer stand exactly what kind of animal does it take to show up for you to pull the trigger on other than deer? Will you shoot a coyote, a bobcat, a mountain lion, pigs, sparrows, badgers, etc. It seems some people will pull the trigger on anything breathing, while others believe that any extra shooting will hurt their deer hunting. What animal does it take for you to pull the trigger on when you are in the deer stand?

Hogs and varmits.

The shooting doesn't bother the deer much. Sure, they may run off. But they'll come back.

Was watchin a group of does a few years ago. Spotted a coyote headed for em. Dropped him. Another one came in. Dropped him. Another one showed up and started attacking the second one. Shot the third but he didn't drop. Didn't find him. The does were at about 200 yds when this started. When it was done they were at about 400 yds watching the whole thing. Went back to feeding like it never happened.

Pigs

They run off the deer and there's too many of them. Once they roll in and the deer roll out the hunt is over anyway. So I'll be blasting their arses for troubling me.

Hogs and bobcats. I was close to slinging an arrow at a cow this morning. I was watching about a 140-150" buck at my feeder and was just waiting for a little more light to shoot. Finally I could see just enough, started to draw back and a cow came crashing through the brush and ran him off.

I usually wouldn't shoot anything but deer for the first 2 weekends after that hogs and coyotes are fair game too.

I'm still offshore until crew change on Thursday, (2 more days), and the way this trip has gone I may shoot anything,flies and mesquitos too!!!

Hogs just to get rid of them. Not really interested in killing varmits. My most common "other" are rocks on the other side of the lake on our lease. Where I park and shoot, it's about 250 yards across so it's fun to shoot tennis-ball sized rocks at that range.

hogs, I grew up eat what you shoot, but kinda seeing the light of predator control, but haven’t crossed that line yet. I’ve let coyotes go under 50 yards.

Pigs every time. Our deer won't come in if pigs are there, so everyone gets popped.

Hogs any and everyone of them. Coyotes crows coons and maybe a squirreling I am bored in the stand with my bow. Wouldn't take a rifle shot at these of course.

Of course I would never have done this but I had a friend that kept 3 arrows tipped with thumpers in his bow blind. Any cows or goats that came to the feeder were practice targets.

Depends on the time of year and the quantity. Had 9 cyotes this weekend...have another 6 to go!...hogs are always on the hit list..mandatory on my lease..will shoot a bobcat or mtn lion if its going on the wall or if we start seeing large numbers.

Pigs die pretty much on site. Coyotes and other varmint might get a pass, it just depends on the circumstances of the individual hunt. Our deer get spooked really easy. We are surround by smaller parcels where people live full time. We have a decent herd of deer, but they are intolerant to pressure and will nocturnal easily. We really have to watch how we conduct ourselves or it can ruin a whole season. I can have the same group of doe coming to my set-up religiously, shoot something in their presence, and it may be weeks before they hit my set-up again during hunting hours. Given our situation, like I said before, we are extremely careful of how we conduct ourselves during hunting season. But our place might be more unique than most in this aspect. i have hunted other places in the past where the deer were more tolerant to the presence of man.

Only deer for the first couple weeks....... Unless my finger gets twitchy and I can no longer take it!
