Like has been stated before... Big deer typically do not start moving until later in the season in south texas. Have you hunted south texas before?

As many hunters as were out this weekend someone killed something I am sure. Some really nice deer are killed opening weekend every year.

the two biggest deer i've ever seen were both the first week of november

no set rule on when bucks move.

look how many are killed under MLD in october.....ALOT!

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

We went down to our place this weekend, didnt do any bow hunting, just getting stuff ready, got some rain last week and had to shred all the roads again, planted 3 food plots and the tank caught an inch or so of water which is once again down to just puddles.

We sat the blinds and saturday morning, and I saw alot of deer, got a big heavy 8 picked out I would like to hunt for this year.

On the way home we only saw one deer in a pickup, and I dont think it was even a buck. The deer seemed to be out moving with the cooler temps though.

Also most of our deer are out of velvet now, but still have a couple left.
