Have a few of these left and know based on pictures there is real good chance of a shot at a racoon Saturday evening. I am willing to drop a 6 dollar arrow on a coon but don't really want to give up a $10 broadhead on top. Are these pretty good at stopping the larger small game or should I co out and buy some cheap fixed blades for them.

Ive never shot them but I have wondered the same question. Scot, try it and let us know how they work. I mean, it is just a coon!
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.

Scot, I bought some of the cheap ones that Walmart sells after season when there on clearance for $8. I hope to take some out this weekend.

I guess you can tell I'm not a bow hunter. When I read the post title, I was thinking some form of game for a raccoon to keep them busy trying to get the corn - sort of like the deals for squirrels to entertain you while watching them trying to get the corn.

They are trash tips I use for really small game... Birds, squirrels, and rabbits. I drilled an armadillo in the head and it broke. G5 SMG is a better option for coons and possums and such. As someone else said, a walmart cheap broadhead works and you aren't out much if you lose it.

I usually keep one arrow with blunts for rascals like that. I used to keep an arrow with grim reapers for that but I've broken all of them and I'm sure not buying any more just for pest.

I guess maybe I am shooting fast enough, it cut a huge hole but didn't exit, so I didn't risk trashing the head or breaking an arrow.
Soaking the head in soapy water and it will be back in the quiver to hunt next week.
Sound of it hitting was something else. Sounded like a tv close range firearm gut shot.

I just use some cheap end of the season sale broadheads for raccoons. Got one this evening. Only 15 more to go. Coach
