Flooded buckbrush reminds me of alot of good areas than many o' green have dropped in.

Here's one of my favorites. This is with a certain body of water up 8 feet over pool and water flooded thru the sticks. Water in this hole is just over knee deep at the time the pic was taken. It was a cold, blue bird morning with winds out of the ENE at 10. Perfect! The cold air produced a hazy fog just above the water and it swirled around.. We stacked the green like cordwood as usual. I call it the treasure hole. I have had the pleasure of hunting it for 15 years and given its remote location I doubt it ever sees the face of another hunter cuz I'm always in there when things get right. Water level, weather, bird movement has to be aligned. But when it is, it is like opening up a chest full of gold...or should I say green. Havent been back in there in several years....ain't had the water. But I shall return one day and the birds will find it as usual. Something peaceful about this place that always draws me to it. That and I know the green will be waiting on me when I get there. grin

This is a spot in leon county i use to hunt but the lease was sold out from under us after we had put 7 hard years of management into it...it was around 07 or 08 i think...and yes many many green heads would sit down into this hole....not as many would fly out

I just found this hole on the last weekend of last season... We were hunting a few hundred yards from it on that Saturday. We did good, but weren't on the X... So I went and found the X(the pic). Me and my buddy were just a couple shy of a limit on Sunday, then some other friends came up for an afternoon hunt, and we hammered them again to close out the season.

Now of course it's bone dry and 300 yds. from water. But I checked it out at the beginning of August and there's lots of good green veggies growing in it. Just need some of that rainy stuff from the sky

PS...I noticed you used the word POOL...that's a FANNIN county word...I am S. TX kid from Poth, tx livin in Dallas...but I know Fannin county talk when EYES here it or read it...That's a tank to the rest of us idiots...I hope you still take me up on my previous offer. Just sent those pics to my buddies in ECTOR (you know where that is) to ask why we never hunt on places like this
