It had been owned by a guy for a long time. Then it was sold 2 years ago. However, hunting was so bad last year that the owner told my Wife that they weren't sure they would do it another year.

I've used a couple of different ones at Muenster and it was all good. Walterscheid and Fishers Market. I don't personally know of any closer.

Also he is only open during season if at all. You probably cannot tell until Saturday. He's right up the road from me and as stated before had a pretty slow year last season. I'd just drive over to Muenster

If he were going to open, I figure he would have a sign by this time.

Your best bet is to go to Fisher's in Munster.

We went to Muenster last year also, but Decatur is closer. Is there a processor in Decatur?

There is a good one in Lindsay right off 82. Wild Country Game Processing I believe. Great guys and they did an awesome job on my antelope last year.

Stan Fuller was the owner of Bowie Meats for over thirty years until he passed away a couple of years. He and I were best of friends when I lived in that area years ago. Stan made some darn good jerkey. Do not know anything about the new owners.

Roger that, he made awesome jerky! The new guy is in some other business full time but I can't remember what it is. We process our own so I don't really pay attention to processors. Might stop in Behrends and ask them if there is anybody in the immediate area.

He is not doing it this year. He is running guided hunts in Montague/Jack county and running his irrigation business I found out this weekend from my dad

I did business with Stan for years until his passing. He was a great guy, fantastic jerky, sausage was really good too. Tried the new owners and was not impressed (along with several others that tried them as well). Mas Meat does a good job.
