Looked at a lease in San Diego with a couple hundred acres a few weeks back. I have heard from a few folks that the hunting in the area is very scarce. I just wanted to get some more confirmation on this so I do not waste my money and time.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Run, especially if you are using one of the lease brokers in the area

15 years ago it was good, now there are to many small tracks and it's been over hunted.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Don't do it. We hunted there one year about 11 years ago and it wasn't very good. We had a bunch of loud oil rigs and pumps and saw very few deer. We put some nice blinds on the place and got lazy and left them there.

Not only over hunted. HEAVILY POACHED.
One of my friends is from there a couple of years back I was looking for a place and he told me not to do it. He said that if you do see deer they won't be any good because all the good ones are killed at night by poachers.

Buddy of mine leased just south of town a couple years ago. Place looked like deer should be there. Problem was no deer were there.

DO NOT DO IT. We paid for a lease several years ago only to see 1 doe the entire season.
