Old Indian Trick for confirming it's a badger:

Reach down in between the animals rear legs and feel for testicles. If you can find them, squeeze gently, but hard enough that the animal can sense the pressure. If no testicles, firmly shove your index finger up the animal's rectum.

Now carefully retrieve a compact mirror from your LEFT pocket and hold it in front of you to where you can see both the animal and your own face.

If your face is, in fact, there, it's not a badger.
