New to the forum and wondering just how many people are in the same boat as I am still looking for an affordable ($1500 per gun) hunting lease?

been on the free sites: worldwideadventurenetwork (not bad, recently), craigslist and on the paid sites leasehunter, deertexas, for a while, I'm either too slow or too poor it seems.

I have a group of four.

If you are looking for a lease, how many people and for how much are you expecting to pay?

-still searching, even this late...

I'm still searching, literally on the websites as I write this. I live in Houston and am not willing to drive 5 hours for a hunt.
Willing to pay 2500 or so for a good lease, not one that wants 29 guys on 500 acres and has small deer.

Frustrated!!

Just bought 40 acres of solid woods. Less than one mile as the crow flies from a 4300 acre wildlife area that only allows seasonal archery hunts and a short (weekend) managed hunt to reduce the number of does each year. The property has a history of producing large (rack and body) deer (12 point / field dress > 200#). Only hunters will be myself and my two sons.
Did keep my lease from last year because I have not had the time to fully checkout the area (Workers Comp injury) like I wanted to.

Not a lease, but I can provide a 5 day hunt for less than the cost of a lease with a cabin and feeders ready to go.

CHK;
I don't have a large area, but I am about 100 miles south of Houston. I won't be using my blind/property until january for hogs. We could talk!

I only have a 5 acre parcel, that sits on what was once a 1200 acre ranch. Mostly all now is scrub oak, but my piece is nice with big oak, big stand 14' up. Seen lots of deer last spring while hogging. A few hunting blinds on bigger parcels next to it. 6000 acre preserve next door. Can see ships passing on the gulf. You would have to be a quality lessee though, with game management principals.Turn into yearly to right person.Still interested? Near Seadrift, San Antonio Bay.

I am one hunter looking to join a large lease that offers year around access as I like to scout a lot before and after the season. Preferred area is the Hill Country due to cost of fuel.

For that kind of cash you could go on several hunts.

Still looking and have some prospects for this weekend. Went to look at a couple this past week and the rancher had too many cattle still left on the place. They were eating trees and he said that he was not going to sell any.

Anyone know of a good stocking rate of cattle per acre?

I'm still looking as well. Searching for a year round deer/hog lease within 1.5 - 2 hours from Waco and not having much luck. If anybody knows of a spot that is open, then please give me a call. (817) 706-1370

I'm still looking as well, not rich either making ends meet though. Perfect lease would be year-round, family friendly, $800 - $1,200. Place you can go relax at, take care of and be a good steward of the property and animals.

Tall order, but hopefully will come across one.

Been looking at doing a meat hunt with one of the outfitters on this forum, elk, axis or red deer, until I can find a place.

Good Luck with your search.

I'm still looking too. I was lucky enough to be drawn for bow hunt at Richland Creek WMA but am having to forfeit it because of shoulder problem. Bought new ground blinds, chair bow equipment, etc. Now I hoping I can find something for gun season.Seriously hoping to find a small single family deer/hog lease for myself plus wife near Corsicana. If anyone has any thing they want to lease in Freestone, Navarro or Henderson Counties, Please email me .We are management minded and non camping and would love to find a place nearby that we could be able to lease for more than 1 season.
