Does anyone else out there attempt to mock that distinctive sound dove make? Both of my best friends and hunting partners do it amazing and it seems to turn the birds right around and fly right to us. Anyone else out there use this method?

I've wondered the same. I have seen dove calls and curious if they work.

We have one mojo out and they sit there and just whistle with there mouth and the birds literally make a turnaround just to come fly by. Which you know they dont make it very far at that point but either way it works for us.

When we take my great niece dove hunting we let her use a dove call. She's real young and it helps keep her from getting bored. Other than that no.

man my brother in law bought one for me last Christmas and I laughed it off. Thought I'd mess with my buddies and bring it out since I couldn't return it and so I took it out. Birds flew by and they turned on the call. Sounds good too. I wouldn't use it all the time but its still fun on a slow day.

My son has a dove call and uses it, he fools me all the time with it, but I don't think it turns the birds, he only does it when it is slow and passing the time. grin

Someone told me they are calling their young with that whistle.

I've whistled and cooed at them. No telling if it made any difference or not.

ducknbass is right. hit'm with a comeback call and finish them with some feed chuckles and the dove will decoy everytime. ever wonder if its the mojo the dove are coming to, not the calling?
