OP mulie_mike THF Trophy Hunter Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 7,910 El Paso Texas	I took Sid one of my guides and his dad out for the first ram hunt to kick off our "season" last weekend. We began the 5.5hr drive to camp along the Devils river and enjoyed a bunch of laughs along the way. After getting to camp and getting unpacked we decided to get an early start and get to glassing. The heat waves were bad but within 5 minutes of driving and getting set up I had a ram spotted about 1300 yards off bedded underneath a cedar high up on a hill. I quickly made the decision that this ram was a mature shooter. We stalked to 410 yards and Mr. Mason made a beautiful 410 yard shot dropping the ram in his tracks. The hill side exploded with more aoudad that were down below in the brush. A total of 25 minutes and we were done. This was the quickest hunt I have been on for aoudad so far. Hope the rest of the year is like this! Ram measured 30.5" straight tape with 13.5" bases. Specializing in Free Range hunts in far west Texas for Native & Exotic Game.
