How much ahead of the duck/goose should I shoot with 20 gauge...first time next season...I've shot doves and pheasants and chakurs and quails but never ducks or geese...some pointers would be nice...thanks

depends on how fast they're flying. follow your gut... and then adjust

Practice shooting with clays...you'll be fine if you can shoot clays.

if they are crossing in front of you, be sure to swing your gun and follow thru. some people just hold their gun still and fire, swing your gun at the same speed as the bird is flying, and don't stop when you fire, follow thru afterwards. OH, and lead the bird some to, takes practice. If all else fails,go to a gun range and take some lessons,it won't take long. good luck.

Speed of the bird, angle of the bird, and range of the bird are all determining factors. Practice clays, shooting should become instinct then.
