go to the corps office and get your general hunting permit. this allows you to hunt turkeys in the grapevine hunting area. good luck.

From their website General Hunting permits will be issued for Hog, Squirrel, Rabbits, Dove, Turkey and coyote. The permits are good for the whole year which includes the spring time.

I have hunted out there off and on my entire adult life. I have never seen nor heard a Turkey at Grapevine before. I have never heard of anyone ever killing a Turkey there before. I have seen reports of people seeing turkeys from the road on private land not far from the lake, but not in recent years. I can honestly say, it has no huntable population of Turkeys.

Sniper John is right I have a friend that hunts there and he said that you would have a better chance of hunting big foot out there than turkey!!

almost makes me want to take on the challenge, i love a good challenge! hunting for the most part is too easy now a days, heck i may even take my bow out for turkey at grapevine...shooting a turkey with a bow out there would certainly win me some kind of award lol.

I don't think you can hunt them with a shotgun out there bow only.

you can shotgun hunt out there for turkeys...

"Shotguns using #3 or smaller shot may be used for general and migratory hunting permits within the approprate seasons as outlined by TPWD. "
