you think landowners are getting a major hit in lack of interest in quail leases this year. are you seeing them drop prices dramatically to keep you on. or how are they handling it

It's kinda like the Stock Market...I quit sending them money too.

If I had the time and money, and they had the quail I'd call it a good swap.

I haven't renewed this year. Got a call last week from one ranch asking if I would reconsider re-leasing. I said sure if they could amend the contract that they would offer a refund if there were no birds. They said no. So, I'm not going to renew.

I renewed. Same price for the last 5 years. In past years when I said I'd just day hunt I really didn't hunt that much, so for me its worth it just to have a place to go. If there are no birds this year and there is no rain next year I'll probably just stop hunting quail & spend that $$ on trips to hunt grouse or fly fish.

Dropped one we had only been on a couple of years and kept the one I have had for 11 years, hoping there will still be water in the ponds so we can at least get some late evening dove hunting in and get little bit of ROI. About to start networking in northern Ks trying to line up a couple of hunts up there this year, as they have had pretty good rains at the right times from what I saw.

The landowners are hurting this year, especially if they are ranchers. Please be kind!
