This is just one of 8 buck's that show up at my sisters house, they all look bad but he's the worst. We need rain!

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

That is bad. I talked to my uncle the other day and he said that he has not seen a single fawn yet.

I've had 2 doe under the feeder for the last few days that seem to be in good health, but I'm feeding a lot too. Usually this time of year I have a whole herd of grown deer and fawns, but not seeing any fawns at all so far. This has been tough on em for sure.

Its getting to where we need more than just a rain.

That's sad to see. Back in 1981 we bow hunted on a ranch in Llano county and every deer on the place looked like that. When a feeder went off you couldn't have run the deer away if you wanted to. I guess they figured that an arrow might just beat starvation. Not a pretty site.

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Dang...I guess I should consider myself lucky. Have seen quite a few fawns at our lease in Blanco county and all the deer seem to be doing alright. Even some nice bucks on camera

I hope this winter doesn't do a 180 and get brutally cold with alot of bad weather. There would probably be alot of winter kill if that happens!
