I'd like to know your opinion on the age of this 8. I will probably pass on him, but I think he's going to look a year or so older once that neck swells up. Here he is again in the background with a seemingly younger buddy. And this one I thought I's share as this coon is posing for the camera.

well mbavo, that is what i was thinking, I've been trying to see an extra year on him, but just don't see it. I was thinking(wishfully) the buck in front was 3 and he was 4, but I really think its more like 2 and 3. I was just hoping to have a 5.5 for next year but, guess I can wait a couple more if he survives

Nice young buck that needs a few more years. I think with the drought conditions, it is going to be more difficult to age this year than in previous years unless you know your herd like the back of your hand.

A hunt based on only trophies being taken falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be,time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and fish that live there. -Fred Bear

I fully intend on Blasting some little bandits. its the only way they learn. I see a few 2.5's here, and I really dont think he's that young. if he is, I hope his 5.5 daddy is around cuz he'd be a dandy. Thanks for all the input. Like I said, i was leaning to 3 to 3.5 but I guess he could be 2.5, I was hoping everyone would say 4.5 and I was wrong about the 3ish estimate. Nice to see some bucks at the feeder regardless and would get a pass at 4.5 and under. I only shoot 5.5 or older at this place

He looks 3.5 and let's hope he make next year without having that feeder collapse on him! Just looks like an extreme angle to me. Good job letting him mature.

Yea, it is a bit of an angle, but the posts are in the ground and it is solid as a rock. plus I dont need a latter to fill with corn. Usually dont have more than 150 lbs in it.

Thanks Fellas, 3.5 is all I can get too. Just glad I saw him now, as when that neck swells and He pops his head out in November, I might have misjudged him a little.
