I hunt right outside of Cuero and i know that you guys have no water left. "Fingers crossed for rain"!!

how are the deer looking??

what is the hunting like with the stress this heat will have on deer?

thank you for the help and any other information about what happening down in South texas would be great.

I hunt just outside of Yoakum on the county line of Dewitt and Lavaca counties. The two tanks on the property I hunt are down to about 25%. We have only seen two bucks on camera and they both are small 8 pointers. Their bodies look just fine. We have also seen a few hogs. Deer are hitting the feeders almost every day. But only early in the morning. Once it gets past 8:30 we don't have any deer on the camera until about 6:00 the next morning. We had to move our stand to a different spot this year because of some oil rigs that may show up later this year.

If you keep your hair short and your mouth shut, things tend to run a lot smoother.

The last time we checked the game cams in Dewitt Co. (Cuero), we didn't get a chance, to look at the pond/s. We'll definately take a look at the water our next trip, within the next week or two.

But, it appeared the deer are in good shape and horns are coming along alright, considering the extreme drought. Also, this is a small - low fenced property with supplemental protein feeding. If only we could just, get rid of " The Coons " bang

We're just trying to help !

I hunt outside Cuero off 87 and Friar Rd and our deer are not doing too bad. We lucked out and have several ponds on our property and although the water levels are down there is still a good amount of water left.

Seen several nice looking shooter bucks on the cameras as well as does and hogs and even a few turkey. I'll be out there this weekend and can give you a more up to date report as the last time I was out there was 2 weeks ago.

Like stated before deer are mainly coming out at night and early mornings
