I have heard talk about feeding peas due to high corn prices. Does anyone have any experience with peas? Cost? do deer like it? will it clog up automatic feeder? where do you buy it? Any info is appreciated.

Its a tough time to test changeover from corn to peas at your feeders because in many areas food is getting scarce so real "preference" data is a long ways out. From the folks that I've spoken with, yes the deer are coming to the pea feeders, not as well as with corn, but still coming in for the peas. No aflotoxin in peas is a great advantage for sure.

Not sure on dealers. Mumme's in Hondo, Tx carries it but not sure for North Texas.

I mixed a bag of split be peas with a bag of soybeans and 4 bags of corn 3 weeks ago, but haven't checked it since. BWI in Carlton has both, peas were $9.50/50 and soybeans were 11.00/50
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

We just plant black eyed peas like the food variety that comes from the store way cheaper than seed peas

We hunt out of Menard county and we usually mix yellow pea w/deer corn in the feeders and deer usually love um. Mumme's in san antonio peas were running 9 bucks for 50#s and no problem in the feeder. Also split blackeyes work good to but i have a hard time geting ahold of them. Peas also come in at about 21% protein which is pretty good.
