Has anybody had success hunting near/over tanks in the a.m. I know it can be pretty good in the evening, just never tried it in the am?

This year that might be the only place to hunt as dry as it is.

I use to work evening shift and had to do morning dove hunts. I use to do great at the crack of dawn by my little pond next to the house.

Usually mornings I hunt food, wheat fields, maze/milo, treelines near these; evenings I hunt water or flyways from feed to water.... I don't think it changes much in drought from that pattern, but I think they do tend to congregate to the ponds that still hold water.

might be, I've tried it over the years, but I always go back to food in the AM.

That's pretty much how i have always hunted... but it doens't look like the crops are going to be worth a damn this year where i hunt so my only hope in the a.m. is the water.
