Just made a trip down to the ranch to fill feeders/tend to trail cams & discovered one of my trail cams was stolen. Yes, where I hunt down in Duval County is definately a high traffic area for illegals. Many have been seen & caught there & seeing the Border Patrol running around is a regular thing. I'm from S Texas so yeh I'm used to this sort of thing & use to things being broken/stolen but haven't lost a trail camera till now. There's been no one else down there so ? Guess they don't like their picture being taken, obviously LOL. Anyway, I'm thinking of building a steel cage on a piece of pipe & sack creting that sucker in the ground. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions on a design for a cage? Sure sucks that I have to do this.........

We havent had any issues in 2 years, knock on wood! We are on the north side of San Diego, a buddy has some land on the south side by the railroad tracks and he has nothing but problems.

For every actual trailcam I have out, I have 3 motion-sensitive claymore mines disguised to look like trailcams.

They learn quickly. I don't have any problems.

We had one run away on us about 2 years ago. No telling what it was, we have never seen any illegals or sign of them on our place.. but doesnt mean they are not there.

I did what you are planning. I built a box with higed lid and hasp with a sollar pannel on top out of 1/8 inch sheep/plate metal, welded it to a 2 3/8's pipe and planded it 4 foot in the ground with cement. It isnt going any where and the box seems to protect the cam and make it last longer.

Yeh that's what I'm gonna have to do. They've been caught on the property before, one even stripped down necked & used the water hose from the house to take a bath. He then layed out right there in the yard & that's how he was discovered. He wanted food & shelter, the Border Patrol helped him out with that LOL!

We haven't had any stolen, but did get a pic of their spacecraft..... which looked surprisingly like a Ranger!

There was also a post awhile back where a cam was stolen out of a box. Don't know what they used, but I hoped the cam faired better
