Was sitting on the porch this morning about 5:30 when I heard the trap close (about 100yds away from the house) and pigs squeeling. Decided to wait until it was a little lighter and when I went down there were two pigs in the trap. Prolly around 60 lbs each. yummmmmmm... tummy rub ....barbecue. As I approached the trap, this one had his head stuck in the door. As they got excited when I approached the trap, this one pulled back opening the trap and the other skeedaddled! Dang it! Oh well, one's better than nothing.

Smaller wire mesh will fix that problem.

Oh that's a very familar mental picture, I had one do the same thing last year. It sucks because he choked himself and with the stress of being caught killed him.

Smaller wire mesh will fix that problem. Yep for sure - or bigger pigs! The trap was made from "hog panel" and held up well.

Oh that's a very familar mental picture, I had one do the same thing last year. It sucks because he choked himself and with the stress of being caught killed him. This one could actually get his head in and out of the mesh with effort. He'd moved the trap maybe 20' after the other pig got out. Any way, he's in the freezer now. If the temp would drop some night or we got a rain, I would feel like barbecue-ing.
