Looks alot like a Bot Fly Larve colony. Never seen it on a deer before but I have seen it on Squirrels.

You can take injectible or pour-on ivomec and put it on corn and let the deer eat it and it will treat them. It works very well. I have used it before to treat deer and exotics that get ticks.

The ivomec? You would want to do it far enough before deer season so that you would not have to worry.

I have a dust bag that you use for cows at the entrance to a pen that I use to catch goats.
The deer go in there also to eat. Everyone gets dusted. Works real good.
