some may have looked at my post about the 220Swift family treasure that was recently passed down to me. Here are some ammo/boxes that were also given to me. Notice on many how they are darkened and discolored. That is actually smoke damage from the house fire that claimed the life of my grandmother 4days before my parents were married some 35yrs ago! check out the 3.70 price tag on the one box.







the detail in the boxes, especially the siera bullet box with the metal corner pieces and the remington primers in little wooden trays, is crazy considering the age!

I started collecting old ammo boxes a few years ago to use for displays. You could pick them up for next to nothing at the gun shows..........then I guess when the ammo crisis hit all of the sudden those old boxs became worth as much as new boxes so I quit buying them. I have quite a few I have been thinking of selling.

Cool looking... I've got some myself from the late 1800's... They now sit in the safe in ceramic boxes out of the elements. =)
